Are adventures guided?

Most of our adventures are guided.

That means an experienced, qualified leader is present on the day to manage the route, pace, safety considerations, and overall flow of the experience. Depending on the activity and location, this may be a certified mountain leader, instructor, or specialist local guide.

If an adventure is guided, it will be clearly stated on the adventure page.

We are also beginning to offer some self-guided experiences. These are designed for people who are confident navigating independently but want a well-planned route, structure, and logistics handled for them.

If an adventure is self-guided or does not include a leader on the ground, it will be clearly labelled as such before you book.

We never assume. You’ll always know whether:

  • A guide is present
  • You are moving independently
  • Or you are following a structured route without a live leader
  • If you’re unsure which format suits you, just ask. Guided adventures offer more support and group momentum. Self-guided options give you more flexibility and autonomy.

Both are built intentionally. The key is choosing the right format for you.
