Overview
Every week, a small group meets at British Camp 90 minutes before sunset for what might be the most civilised walk in England. This 6km loop takes you around the Malvern Hills at a pace that actually lets you enjoy the views instead of gasping through them.
The route is straightforward but not boring. You'll get proper hill walking without the knee-destroying descents or the need for crampons and survival gear. The terrain rolls rather than punches, and the paths are clear enough that you won't spend the evening studying your phone for navigation.
What makes this special is the timing. You start in daylight with views stretching across three counties, then watch the landscape change as evening settles in. By the time you reach the ancient hill fort at British Camp, the light is going golden and soft.
This is where people either head home satisfied or settle in for a proper sundowner. Bring whatever you like to drink, or join the group afterwards at the Malvern Hills Hotel if you prefer your beverages to come with proper glassware and someone else washing up.
The walk suits anyone who can manage 6km without drama. You'll be walking for about two hours total, but that includes stops to actually look at things rather than marching past them. The hills here are kind to beginners but interesting enough for people who know their way around mountains.
It runs weekly through spring and summer when the evenings are long enough to make it work. Weather happens, but unless it's genuinely horrible, the walk goes ahead.

No Bullshit Policy

Exact meeting time will be confirmed in the dates and pricing section. Arrive in good time to park, meet the group and run through the route before setting off.
We begin on the lower path beneath the main hills, heading gradually south. The ground is steady underfoot and the pace relaxed as we settle into the walk.
At the turning point near Gullet Wood, we begin to loop back, gradually gaining height as we work our way towards British Camp.
We reach the Iron Age hill fort in time for sunset. Open views in every direction. Optional sundowners if you’ve brought one.
A steady walk back down to British Camp car park as the light fades. Head torches may be required in autumn and winter.
Those who wish can continue on for a drink or coffee at the Malvern Hills Hotel, around 15 minutes from the car park.
