Cornwall's coastline has been swallowing ships for centuries. Merchant vessels, warships, smugglers' boats. The seabed off this stretch of the Atlantic has more history beneath it than most museums have above ground.
Your day starts at the harbour at 8am. Kit check, fitting, and a full pre-dive and safety briefing before the boat heads out at quarter past nine. You'll be in the water by 9:45.
Dry suit diving opens up Cornish waters in a way a wetsuit simply doesn't. You stay warm, you stay comfortable, and you stay down longer. More time picking your way through the skeletal remains of vessels that last saw daylight in a different century. Two dives, roughly 45 minutes each, with a surface interval between them for hot drinks and whatever snacks you can eat while still wearing your undersuit.
Your Divemaster knows these sites well and will take you to spots that don't appear on any tourist map. Visibility varies because this is the Atlantic, not a swimming pool. But on a good day you'll see further than you'd expect, and the light that filters down through the water column onto a wreck is genuinely hard to describe to someone who hasn't seen it. Marine life has colonised most of the wrecks thoroughly. Cornwall's waters are richer than their reputation suggests.
Back at the harbour by early afternoon. Kit rinsed, log signed, debrief done.
This one's for certified divers with some cold water experience. If you've only ever dived warm, clear, tropical water, this will feel like a different sport. In the best possible way.
