Who are the adventures suitable for?

Our adventures are designed around four experience levels: Stillness, Flow, Edge, and Threshold. That framework helps you quickly understand what kind of day you’re signing up for.

Here’s how they break down.

Stillness

Built for slowing down. Think steady movement, beautiful landscapes, breathing space. Suitable for beginners, people returning to the outdoors, or anyone who wants a restorative day outside without big physical strain.

Flow

A step up. Expect consistent movement, moderate hills, and a satisfying physical effort without it becoming a sufferfest. Ideal if you’re reasonably active and want to feel like you’ve earned the views.

Edge

Now we’re talking proper challenge. Longer distances, steeper terrain, sustained effort. These adventures suit people who already spend time outdoors and are comfortable being pushed physically for extended periods.

Threshold

Serious days. Big elevation, long hours, demanding pace. These are built for experienced participants who train regularly and actively seek out tough environments. You should arrive prepared.

Each adventure page clearly outlines:

  • Distance
  • Elevation gain
  • Terrain type
  • Expected pace
  • Time on your feet
  • We also include a clear difficulty rating in the summary section so you can compare options quickly.

Age guidance will vary depending on the adventure. Some are suitable for teenagers with a parent or guardian. Others are adults only due to intensity or safety considerations. Specific details are always listed on the individual adventure page.

If you’re unsure, ask. We’d much rather help you choose the right level than have you book something that isn’t a good fit.

The goal isn’t to scare you off. It’s to make sure you land in the right place.
